In 2022 a refund script at our last company ran twice and paid out four hundred thousand euros before anyone noticed. Nobody owned it, nothing traced it, and no person had to say yes. Tessel is the platform we wished we had that morning.

We pick the proven option over the clever one. Postgres, plain TypeScript and small releases every weekday.

Decisions, incidents and roadmaps are written down and shared with the whole company, and with customers where it helps.

Maren de Wit and Joost Verhoeven start Tessel Labs in Rotterdam. The first block is a Postgres source with a typed schema.

The first hundred teams
Public launch with 38 connectors and 7-day traces. Halden moves its month-end close onto Tessel in the autumn.
Series A
Lisbon and agents
A $24M Series A, a second office in Lisbon and the first agent blocks with spend caps. SOC 2 Type II follows in June.

Agents with approvals
Tessel 4.0 ships approvals in Slack. 1,900 teams now run 2.1 billion runs a month across 12 regions, with ISO 27001 in place.
