Overview
The HubSpot connector registers webhook subscriptions on a Tessel app, so changes in your portal arrive as they happen. Each event names the object, the property that changed and its new value, and Tessel fetches the full record before the workflow starts.
Teams use it to route new contacts to the right owner, to create a Stripe customer when a deal closes and to alert a Slack channel when a key account changes lifecycle stage.

Creation, deletion and property changes for contacts, companies and deals

How webhooks work
HubSpot groups events into batches and posts them to Tessel with an X-HubSpot-Signature-v3 header, which Tessel checks before accepting the batch. Each event is deduplicated by its eventId, matched to a subscription and turned into a typed event.
Rate limits
Tessel stays inside HubSpot's per-app limit of 110 requests every 10 seconds. When a workflow writes many records, it uses the batch endpoints, up to 100 records per call, and backs off on a 429 response.
Permissions needed
Install the Tessel app in your portal with OAuth. It needs read scopes for the objects you subscribe to. Write scopes are only requested if a workflow creates or updates records.
